The saddest (in both meanings of the word) comments on the death of Steve Jobs come from Richard Stallman. You can read his word here. Stallman has got it wrong. Very wrong. Apple's creations have give more freedom to more people than any products I've seen. They've done this by creating great products that people really want to use, and great tools such as XCode and Garageband, that mean creating product for those tools is a joy. This, to me, is freedom, and Steve Jobs has given this to more creative people than anyone else working in technology. Sadly, I don't think this is something Stallman will ever understand.
